Part 2 - Have Faith In God
II. Have Faith in God's Purpose
Many are struggling
because they really don't believe that God has a purpose! That
why every problem is a setback rather than a stepping-stone!
Regardless of what you going through, If you're a child of God, He has
a purpose for everything!
The sun may not be
shinning right now but God hasn't left you all alone in this world to
make it by yourself. Romans 8:28 And we know that in all
things God works for the good of those who love him] who
have been called according to his purpose (NIV).
Someone said, "Faith
does not search the will of God, nor strive to understand; adversities
that may descend beneath his loving hand. Faith is
trusting form and strong; that knows God's plans are never wrong."
Sometimes we don't
understand the reason for the storm! But it's in the storm that
the ship is tested, not the calm! When the storm
was ragging and all had given up hope; Paul stood forth and said,
"Sirs, be of good cheer, for I believe God." If you're in a
storm you need to tell your heart, "Be of good cheer, I believe God."
III. Have
Faith In God's Promises
Many great men and
women of faith in time of trouble and sever testing have been
people who've put their faith and confidence in the promises of
God.
In Hebrew 11 - Enoch
walked with God, Noah built an ark, Abraham left his homeland, Sara
conceived, Isaac blessed, Moses forsook because they all believed in a
promise.
Hebrew 11:13
These all died in faith, not having received the promises, but having
seen them afar off, and were persuaded of them, and embraced them, and
confessed that they were strangers and pilgrims on the earth (KJV).
Salomon's prayer at
the dedication - 1KIngs 8:56 Blessed be the LORD,
that hath given rest unto his people Israel, according to all that he
promised: there hath not failed one word of all his good promise,
which he promised by the hand of Moses his servant
(KJV).
There's not one
promise in God's Word that He's ever failed to keep! 2
Corinthians 1:20 For all the promises of God in him are yea, and
in him Amen, unto the glory of God by us. (KJV)
He's a God who faithful
in keeping His promises!
- Forgiveness of sins -
1 John 2:1 My little children, these things write I unto you,
that ye sin not. And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the
Father, Jesus Christ the righteous. . Isaiah 1:8 And the daughter of Zion is left as a cottage in a
vineyard, as a lodge in a garden of cucumbers, as a besieged city.
- Deliverance for temptation -
1
Corinthians 10:13 There hath no temptation taken you but such as is
common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be
tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also
make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.
- Prayers will be answered -
Mark 1:24 Saying, Let us alone; what have we to do with
thee, thou Jesus of Nazareth? art thou come to destroy us? I know
thee who thou art, the Holy One of God.
John 14:13 And whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will
I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son.
- Needs will be supplied -
Philippians 4:19 But my God shall supply all your need according to
his riches in glory by Christ Jesus. Luke 6:38 Give, and it shall be given unto you; good
measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over,
shall men give into your bosom. For with the same measure that ye
mete withal it shall be measured to you again.
- Nothing shall separate us from the
love of God - Romans 8:35 Who shall separate us from the love of Christ?
shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or
nakedness, or peril, or sword?
- Deliverance fro condemnation of the
past - Romans 8:1 There is therefore now no condemnation to them
which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after
the Spirit.
- He will order our steps -
Psalm
37:23 The steps of a good man are ordered by the LORD:
and he delighteth in his way. Proverbs 3:5 Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean
not unto thine own understanding.
- His continual presence -
Matthew
28:20 Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I
have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the
end of the world. Amen. Isaiah 43:2 When thou passest through the waters, I will be
with thee; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow thee:
when thou walkest through the fire, thou shalt not be burned;
neither shall the flame kindle upon thee.
Psalm 139:7 Whither shall I go from thy spirit? or whither
shall I flee from thy presence?
- The victory of the Church -
Matthew 16:18 And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and
upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall
not prevail against it.
- Rapture of the Church -
1
Thessalonians 4:16 For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven
with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump
of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first.
- Resurrection of the dead
- Romans
8:11 But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from
the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead
shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth
in you.

III. Have
Faith In God's Provision
God is a God of
provision! He's always provision for his people!
When Adam and Eve sinned and covered
themselves in fig leaves, God said it wasn't sufficient and
provided something better.
Throughout Isreal's wanderings in the
wilderness, God continually provided:
- When they
came to the Read Sea He provided a way through!
- When they
were thirsty He provided a rock!
- When they
were hungry He provided manna!
|
| When humanity was
lost in sin and there was nothing He could do to reconcile himself
to God, He provided himself in the flesh of Jesus Christ and
offered his life at Calvary.
Philippians 4:19 And
my God will meet all your needs according to his glorious riches
in Christ Jesus. (NIV)
When God says, "shall"
He doesn't mean maybe, etc!
I don't know what your needs are but
I do know you can put your faith and confidence in God and
his ability to provide. |

Faith is Stronger
than FearsAuthor Unknown |
|
Sometimes my cross is hard to bear
for there is darkness everywhere,
and troubles pile around my door
like autumn leaves forevermore.
The morning light seems far away,
like I am stuck in yesterday,
My heart is beating like a drum,
I try to pray, but words won't come.
But then the sun begins to rise
and hope is born within my eyes.
A rainbow forms among my tears,
my faith is stronger than my fears!

Humor
A man named Jack was walking along a steep cliff one
day, when he accidentally got too close to the edge and fell. On the
way down he grabbed a branch, which temporarily stopped his fall. He
looked down and to his horror saw that the canyon fell straight down
for more than a thousand feet.
He
couldn't hang onto the branch forever, and there was no way for him to
climb up the steep wall of the cliff. So Jack began yelling for help,
hoping that someone passing by would hear him and lower a rope or
something.
HELP! HELP! Is anyone up there? "HELP!"
He yelled for a long time, but no one heard him. He was about to
give up when he heard a voice. Jack, Jack. Can you hear me?"
"Yes, yes! I can hear you. I'm down here!"
"I can see you, Jack. Are you all right?"
"Yes, but who are you, and where are you?
"I am the Lord, Jack. I'm everywhere."
"The Lord? You mean, GOD?"
"That's Me."
"God, please help me! I promise if, you'll get me down from
here, I'll stop sinning. I'll be a really good person. I'll serve You
for the rest of my life."
"Easy on the promises, Jack. Let's get you off from there; then
we can talk."
"Now, here's what I want you to do. Listen carefully."
"I'll do anything, Lord. Just tell me what to do."
"Okay. Let go of the branch.""What?" "I said, let go of the
branch. Just trust Me. Let go."
There was a long silence.
Finally Jack yelled, "HELP! HELP! IS ANYONE ELSE UP THERE?"

In facing life each day,
But takes it by the hand and says,
