Conclusion - Have Faith In
God
V. Have Faith in God's Power
1 Corinthians 2:4
And my speech and my preaching was not with enticing words of man's
wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power.
How easy it is to
put your faith in man's ability and get caught up in the
technology, wisdom, talent, education, and knowledge men have today!
Don't doubt for one second
the power of God!
Paul said 2,000 years ago that you faith
shouldn't stand in the wisdom of man but you better put it in the
power of God. When you can't put your faith in the
doctor, you can put your faith in the power of God!
Don't get so wrapped up in what man can do that you forget that
there's a God on the throne who has all power in heaven and in the
earth, and there's nothing, etc. The power of God hasn't
changed! He can still open blind eyes, etc.
VI. Have
Faith In God's Justice
Just because things
don't work out they way we think doesn't make God unjust! God
is a just God; righteous God; fair God! "
Be not deceived. God in not mocked. Whatsoever a man
soweth, that also shall he reap."
In
Psalm 73, Asaph almost slipped when he saw the prosperity of the
wicked. Remember, things aren't always
the way they seem.
VII. Have Faith In God's
Faithfulness
All through the scripture God
reminds us of his faithfulness:
-
Psalm 89:1
I will sing of the mercies of the LORD for ever: with my mouth
will I make known thy faithfulness to all generations.
-
1 Corinthians
1:9
God is faithful, by whom ye were called unto the fellowship of his
Son Jesus Christ our Lord.
-
1
Thessalonians 5:24
Faithful is he that calleth you, who also will do it.
-
Revelation 19:11
And I saw heaven opened, and behold a white horse; and he that sat
upon him was called faithful and true, . . .

There are a lot of things I can't understand
about God - many times life doesn't makes sense. Paul said we
see through a glass darkly (1
Corinthians 13:12).
But Even when we
can't understand we can take courage in the fact that God is
faithful God, and even when our faith is weak and we
believe not, yet he abideth faithful because he can't deny himself.
God is faithful in:
- Creation - Psalm
119:90 Thy faithfulness is unto all generations:
thou hast established the earth, and it abideth.
- The call of men -
1 Corinthians 1:9 God is faithful, by whom ye
were called unto the fellowship of his Son Jesus Christ
our Lord.
- The midst of our suffering -
1 Peter 4:19 Wherefore let them that
suffer according to the will of God commit the keeping
of their souls to him in well doing, as unto a faithful
Creator.
- Delivering us from temptation
- 1 Corinthians 10:13 There hath no
temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but
God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted
above that ye are able; but will with the temptation
also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear
it.
- Forgiving our sins -
1 John 1:9 If we confess our sins, he is
faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse
us from all unrighteousness.
- Keeping His promises -
1 Kings 8:56 Blessed be the LORD, that hath
given rest unto his people Israel, according to all that
he promised: there hath not failed one word of all his
good promise, which he promised by the hand of Moses his
servant.

I've
prayed many prayers
When no answer came,
Though I waited patient and long,
But answers have come
To enough of my prayers
To make me keep praying on.
I've trusted many a friend that failed,
And left me to weep alone,
But I've found
Enough of my friends true blue,
To make me keep trusting on.
I've sown many seeds
That fell by the way,
For the birds to feed upon,
But I've held
Enough golden sheaves in my hands,
To make me keep sowing on.
I've drained the cup
Of disappointment and pain
And gone many ways without song,
But I've sipped enough nectar
From the roses of life
To make me want to live on. |

Out of Gas
A nun who works for a local home health care agency was out making
her rounds when she ran out of gas. As luck would have it there was a
station just down the street. She walked to the station to borrow a
can with enough gas to start the car and drive to the station for a
fill up.
The attendant regretfully told her that the only can he owned
had just been loaned out, but if she would care to wait he was sure it
would be back shortly.
Since the nun was on the way to see a patient she decided not to
wait and walked back to her car. After looking through her car for
something to carry to the station to fill with gas, she spotted a
bedpan she was taking to the patient. Always resourceful, she carried
it to the station, filled it with gasoline, and carried it back to her
car.
As she was pouring the gas into the tank of her car two men
walked by. One of them turned to the other and said: "Now that is
what I call faith!"
Words for Thought
He who has faith has hope;
and he who has hope has everything

Yesterday is history.
Tomorrow a mystery.
Today is a gift.
That's why it's called the present!
